What do you need to know?
Any persons, who have suffered an injury or damage to their property or rights, on condition that this was the consequence of the normal or abnormal operations of the Public Fire Prevention and Control and Rescue Operations Service, have the right to receive compensation.
Exceptions are cases of force majeure or any damage against which the private individual has no legal right to recourse.
Only private individuals may follow this procedure in person.
Self-employed persons, professionals, businesses, entities and other collectives must complete the procedure online. Documentation provided through other channels will not be considered or computed for filing date purposes.
For physical persons and legal entities.
Within one year after the occurrence of the incident or action that leads to the application for compensation or after the harmful effect appears.
If the personal harm is physical or psychological, within one year after a treatment is found or the scope of the sequels is identified.
Additional obligatory documentation that must be presented with the application:
- Documentation confirming your ownership of the item or property, e.g., rental contract, deed of ownership, the registration document for a vehicle, etc.
- Invoice(s) or estimate(s) for the repairing of the damage caused
Optional additional documentation:
- Insurance policy for the damaged item or property
- Photographs showing the damage caused
No fees are levied for this procedure.

Step three
Receive a reply from the Administration
The Body of the Department handling Fire Prevention and Control and Rescue Operations will take a decision that will conclude the procedure.

The duration of the procedure must not exceed six (6) months, from the starting date up to the date of notification of the decision that concludes the procedure. If the procedure is processed in a simplified manner, it will be concluded within a period of 30 days, starting from the day after the day on which the authorisation of a simplified treatment is notified to the person concerned.
After the above-mentioned waiting periods have expired, and if no decision has been issued, it may be concluded that the application has been rejected by a process of administrative soap. In this case, you may make a discretionary appeal for a second decision at any time from the day following the date on which the supposed action occurred, by contacting the relevant body of the Ministry relating to Fire Prevention, Control and Rescue Operations of the Government of Catalonia, or by an Administrative Appeal to the relevant body of Administrative Justice.
How will you receive the reply?
Self-employed persons, professionals, businesses and other collectives will receive a digital notification. You can access the content through the e-NOTUM service.
If you are a private individual, you will receive a notification sent to the postal address indicated in the application form. You may also access the electronic notification system through the service e-NOTUM.
