What do you need to know?
Exceptional and provisional qualification process for auxiliary personnel caring for people in a situation of dependency with work experience.
The deadline for submitting the application has been extended to 3 p.m. on 31 December 2026.
To auxiliary personnel of care for people in situations of dependency (gerontology, personal care of people with disabilities, home care assistant, family worker and personal assistant) with work experience.
The deadline for applying for authorisation is 15 h on 31 December 2026.

Certificate from the General Social Security Treasury
Certificate from the Social Security General Treasury, stating the company, the employment category and the recruitment period (this can be requested online at the Social Security Electronic Headquarters or in person at the offices). -
Employment contract or certification of the company (for employed workers)
Employment contract or certificate of the company, stating the duration of the periods of service, the activity carried out and the dates. -
Declaration responsible for the description of the activity (for self-employed workers).

Declaration responsible for the description of the activity carried out in relation to the employment to be enabled and the period of time during which it was carried out in accordance with the dates indicated in the certificate of the Social Security Treasury. -
Certification of training related to professional competences.
Only for persons who NOT accumulate work experience of at least 3 years and at least 2.000 hours worked. Certificate of training related to professional competences, with a minimum of 300 hours. The certificate must indicate the content of the course, the training hours and the dates on which it was carried out. Courses with a duration of less than 10 hours, attendance at days, symposia, meetings and similar events, or certificates or diplomas which do not specify what is specified in the previous paragraph, are not valued.

Work experience and training
In order to apply for exceptional authorisation, the person concerned must prove work experience as a care assistant of at least 3 years, before 31 December 2023, with a minimum of 2.000 hours worked (equivalent to 250 days of contributions over the minimum of 3 years) in the corresponding occupation. If you do not achieve this minimum of experience, you must have worked in this field and have a minimum of 300 hours of related training, completed before 31/12/2023, with the professional skills you wish to demonstrate.
The work experience attested by the gerontology assistant or the personal care assistant for persons with disabilities is carried out in residential and diurnal centres (residences, home homes, day centres and specialised care centre).
The work experience attested by the home care assistant – family worker and personal assistant is carried out at home.

The certificate of the rating is issued within 3 months. If the information provided does not prove compliance with the requirements, the certificate will not be issued.
How is the notification/decision received?
The Business Management Office, after reviewing the application, and the documentation submitted, issues the certificate determining whether the applicant fulfils the requirements to obtain the professional qualification, exceptional or provisional, for the job applied for.
The decision is served on the person concerned in accordance with the means by which the application was made. The processing of the application ends with the issuance of the certificate.
In the event of failure to comply with the requirements, the applicant shall be informed of the impossibility of issuing the certificate of professional qualification. This communication shall be made via the Private Area of Canal Empresa, if the processing is electronic, and if the applicant is in person and the applicant so requests, it shall be provided in paper form.
