What do you need to know?
You are required to have hunting authorization to use ferrets for hunting in the following cases during the hunting season, as a hunting method. This authorization is also required all year round, during rabbit vaccinations or for transferring animals to repopulate other areas.
This procedure can only be done in person if you are a private person.
Self-employed workers, professionals, companies, entities and other groups must process the electronic method online. Documentation provided by another channel will not be taken into account or computed for the purposes of filing date.
Owners of ferrets must hold a type B hunting licence.

In case of not authorizing the verification of the data by the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda, this documentation must be attached to the application:
- Photocopy of the applicant's ID card
- Photocopy of type B hunting license.
If you have not previously presented to the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda, or if it has been done but is not in force:
- Permission from the owner of the private or hunting area where the activity is carried out.
- To hold a current type B hunting licence.
- To have the pertinent permit of the owner of the private hunting land or hunting ground where the activity will take place.
There are no fees associated to this procedure.
In the authorization you must specify:
- The prior permission from the owners of private hunting land.
- The reason for the authorization according to the application presented.
- The persons authorized for the use of ferrets and the number of animals to be used.
- The hunting licences required.
- The specific period for the effectiveness of the authorization.

In Statement and Request section, indicate "We are sending you the application form to authorize hunting using ferrets, along with copies of your ID card and type B hunting license card. These documents should be sent to the Hunting and Inland Fishing Activities Section of the Depratment Territorial Services in Catalonia XXXXXX, where XXX Lleida or Girona."
In the Where to Send section, you must select "I want to send the request to an agency of the Government of Catalonia," and in the "Recipient Entity" section, select "Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food."
In the Documentation section, attach the documentation to submit, with a maximum size of 20 MB per document. You need to attach compressed folders here, if applicable.
When you submit the form, you must identify yourself with the idCAT Mobile or a digital certificate of a natural, legal or linked person.

How is the answer received?
Self-employed workers, professionals, companies and other groups will receive an electronic notification. You can access the content through the e-NOTUM service.
If you are an individual, you will receive the notification at the postal address listed on the application form. You will also be able to access the electronic notification through the e-NOTUM service.
