- To be the holder of a PHV authorisation.
- If you have applied for a new badge, you must have lost or damaged your previous badge.
There are no fees for this procedure.
There are two different badges:
- Diamond-shaped PHV badge or identification (endorsed): This identification badge shows that the vehicle holds a PHV authorisation based in Catalonia. It indicates the authorisation type and the year and month of expiry. It has a unique format and is diamond-shaped.
This badge must be placed in such a way as to be visible on the lower right of a vehicle’s front windscreen. - PHV badge or identification for weekly rest days: This is the distinguishing badge for mid-week rest days, which is intended for vehicles providing services or intending to provide an ad hoc service within the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. It has two different formats:
- A rectangle with a green background, for vehicles whose authorisation number ends in an even number.
- A rectangle with a red background, for vehicles with an authorisation number ended in an odd number.
This marking must be placed in such a way as to be visible on the lower left of a vehicle’s front windscreen. More information can be found on the Barcelona Metropolitan Area website.

If you have applied for a new badge because your previous badge is lost or damaged, you must hand over the badge that is in poor condition or submit a self-declaration.
