What do you need to know?
Tattooing, micro-pigmentation and piercing can only be carried out by people who can demonstrate, before starting the activity, that they meet the appropriate training requisites.
Practitioners may undertake training in a training centre approved by the Ministry of Health or apply to have previously completed training recognised and validated, provided that the training is deemed equivalent in terms of content and duration to that provided during the approved courses.
The General Directorate for Health Professionals can recognise and validate training courses in tattooing, micro-pigmentation and piercing undertaken and authorised in other Autonomous Communities in Spain, provided their contents are comparable.
Individuals with certain regulated qualifications or who can accredit specific skills can carry out the activity without having to complete further training or complete the recognition procedure.
The recognition of the training activities implies, at the request of the organisation or entity, the registration of qualified tattoo, micro-pigmentation and piercing practitioners in the "Registry of persons trained to work as professional tattoo, micro-pigmentation and piercing practitioners, to maintain installations susceptible to Legionella contamination or to work with tanning equipment", which is administered by the Ministry of Health.
This procedure can only be carried out online. Documentation provided through another channel will not be taken into account or counted for the purposes of the submission date.
