What do you need to know?
Laboratories that carry out analyses and controls in the field of food and environmental safety in Catalonia must present a responsible declaration before starting their activity.
This declaration entails automatic registration in the Register of Environmental and Food Health Laboratories of Catalonia, without prejudice to subsequent verification, control, and inspection activities.
Laboratories from other autonomous communities or European Union countries can register voluntarily if they present a responsible declaration that they are legally established in their place of origin.
This procedure can only be done online. Any documentation you provide through another channel will not be considered and will not be valid for the purposes of the submission date.
Specific forms have been enabled for requests or communications for this procedure, which are mandatory to use. You can download them from this page, and it is important to always use the latest version. If you submit the request or communication using other forms, they will be considered not submitted.
To natural or legal persons holding environmental and food health laboratories or self-control laboratories, both public and private, including laboratories of economic operators who carry out their analytical activities in the field of food and environmental safety.
It can be submitted at any time, but must be done within a maximum period of one month from the date the modification occurs.
In case of change of ownership:
- Document, public or private, that justifies the change of ownership.
- Be registered in the Register of Environmental and Food Health Laboratories of Catalonia.
The health authority may carry out the necessary checks to verify that the declared data is correct and that the requirements set by the applicable legislation are met.

This procedure can only be performed online.
When you send the form, you have to identify yourself with idCAT Mòbil if you are the owner of the company, or with a digital certificate of representation if you are its representative.

- Attach the documentation:Click the “Attach” button and find the document on your computer.
- Submit the form:If mandatory data is missing or any data is incorrect, you will see an error message, and the fields you need to review will be highlighted. To submit the request, you will need a digital representation certificate if you act on behalf of a legal entity. In the case of individuals, you can use idCAT Mobile or a digital certificate.

Confirm the procedure carried out
Registration receipt:
If the request has been sent correctly, the registration receipt will appear on the screen (you need Adobe Acrobat to open it).
Save or print this document, as it contains:- The entry registration with the start date of the procedure.
- The identifier code that will allow you to know the status of the procedure from the Private Area.
Errors in the request:
If the request contains any errors, the submission will not be made, and a message indicating the error will appear.
If you have technical problems, try again later or check if there is any service interruption in the notices section of alerts and service suspensions.

Once you have submitted the form, you will find the documentation for payment in your Private area of Canal Empresa (this may take a few hours or days).

Receive a response

The Business Management Office (OGE) automatically registers the modifications in the Register of Environmental and Food Health Laboratories when you submit the communication, after carrying out the necessary checks.
How will I receive the response?
You will receive the document with the new registration data in the Private Business Area. You can access it to download it with a digital certificate or with the procedure identifier (ID) and the NIF/NIE from the Status of my procedures.
