What do you need to know?
ll public, private, and individual entities that have automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) or semi-automatic defibrillators (DESAs) outside the healthcare setting in Catalonia must report their installation for registration before putting them into operation.
Important information:
- References to AEDs also include DESAs.
- Registration is mandatory and part of the measures to ensure the safe and effective use of defibrillators in non-healthcare spaces.
- It is not necessary to register AEDs located in centers, services, or establishments that require healthcare authorization.
This procedure can only be done online. Any documentation you provide through another channel will not be considered and will not be valid for the purposes of the submission date.
Specific forms have been enabled for requests or communications for this procedure, which are mandatory to use. You can download them from this page, and it is important to always use the latest version. If you submit the request or communication using other forms, they will be considered not submitted.
Any public or private entity, or individual, who owns the place where the AED or DESA will be installed.
It can be submitted at any time, but must be done within one month of the modification.

If you are a legal entity, to submit the form you will need a digital representation certificate. If you act on your own behalf, you can use idCAT Mobile or a digital certificate.

Receive a response from the Administration

Once the documentation has been verified, the Business Management Office (OGE) will automatically register the modifications in the Registry of Defibrillators Outside the Healthcare Setting.
How will I receive the response?
You will receive the registration certificate in the Private Business Area. You can access it with a digital certificate or with the procedure ID and your NIF/NIE, if accessing from the "My Procedures" section.
If you are a public administration, you will receive the response through the EACAT platform. Remember to download the document.
