What do you need to know?
The Official Register of Pesticide Establishments and Services (ROESP) is a mandatory public register of pesticide factories, storage facilities and points of sale, installations used for pesticide treatments, and pesticide treatment companies.
Management of this register in Catalonia is split between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food depending on the type of pesticide.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food is responsible for managing the registration of all establishments, natural persons and legal entities that manufacture pesticides.
- Natural persons and legal entities that manufacture pesticides other than phytosanitary products.
Registrations can be amended or cancelled at any time.

Changes in information in the register
The head of the establishment or service must inform the Local Plant Health Unit of any changes in the information in the register within two months of the change occurring, providing the appropriate supporting documentation.
Authorisation to store and/or sell highly toxic products that do not generate gases
Points of sale and warehouses already entered in the ROESP holding products reclassified pursuant to Royal Decree 255/2003 as highly toxic, but that are neither gases or generate gases, or establishments that intend to sell such products, must notify their town council of this change of activity.
Removal from the register
Registrations are cancelled in the following cases:
- At the request of the head of the establishment or service.
- If an official inspection report or any other circumstance reveals that related prevailing regulations are not being observed.
- If no renewal application is made after the registration has expired, following consultation with the head of the establishment or service.
- If an inspection reveals that the related business is no longer operational, following consultation with the head of the establishment or service.
