To operate electronic devices such as a mobile phone or a GPS while driving is dangerous, as it implies a lack of attention to driving and increases reaction time, and therefore the risk of a traffic accident. This is why it is recommended that it is the co-driver who should handle these devices to prevent the driver from any distractions.
Legislation
Driving and using mobile telephones or any other communication device that requires the driver to use his/her hands is considered a serious offence.
Exceptions
Mobile phones may be used if communication can be established without the use of the driver's hands or the use of headphones, earpieces or similar devices.
