When and in which seats do you need to install a child restraint system (child seat)?
In the front seats of a vehicle:
- Children of 135 cm or less in height are not allowed to travel in the front seat.
- As an exception, they can occupy the front passenger seat if the vehicle has no back seats; when all the back seats are already occupied by other children; or when it is impossible to install all the child restraint systems in the back seats.
In the back seat of a vehicle
- Children of 135 cm or less in height must travel in the back seats and always in an approved child restraint system commensurate with their height and weight.
