Technological capabilities
CATMech is a research group specializing in Mechanical Engineering with an applied focus on research, industrial collaboration and technology transfer. Our expertise encompasses fluid mechanics, microfluidics, vibration mechanics, acoustics and materials science.
We design, model and test fluid dynamic components, optimize fluid energy systems for sustainability and develop lab-on-a-chip/organ-on-a-chip technologies.
In vibration and acoustics, we develop noise control techniques, predict and control structural vibrations, and explore vibration energy harvesting for IoT applications.
Our work in mechanics of materials includes advanced composites, large-format 3D printing, IoT integrated structural monitoring, and non-destructive testing to improve durability and safety. By integrating theory, simulation and experimentation, we drive advances in sustainable engineering, smart materials and digital infrastructure, addressing global challenges in manufacturing, transportation and construction.
