CD6 is a UPC center specializing in Photonics and Optical Engineering. Its mission is to generate applied knowledge and transfer it to the market, and it has a long tradition of collaboration with the business environment. It regularly works for companies in sectors such as health, mobility, Industry 4.0, etc. The center has laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art scientific instrumentation, prototyping rooms, mechanical and electronic workshops and software development capacity.

Technological capabilities
CD6's research lines include optical metrology, which allows shapes and dimensions to be measured with light; optomechanical design to create optical systems; visual optics, which studies human vision; biophotonics, which combines biology and photonics for medical or agricultural applications; and multispectral imaging, to capture information beyond human vision and finally, the additive manufacturing of optical components.
Interaction with the business environment is flexible to tailor services to the needs of companies.
