Technological capabilities
The TECNIO IRTA-SPPS group integrates capabilities and experience in RDI services, Technological Services and Training Services.
In terms of RDI services, the group has extensive experience in supporting companies in areas of technological implementation and validation in agri-food production, searching for new sources of vegetable protein and utilizing by-products, carrying out sustainable and quality crop production strategies, producing biomolecules using vegetable matrices, studying the control of emerging pests and diseases in the field and industry, supporting water and fertilizer management in agriculture, as well as promoting new crops and/or varieties for healthy ingredients and diets. IRTA develops and protects plant varieties through breeding programs.
RDI services are linked to the technological applications prioritized by the center, such as precision agriculture, digital twins, artificial intelligence, robotics, data platforms, and digital phenomics and genomics. These applications give rise to projects with high impact and business value.
