Technological capabilities
The TECNIO IRTA–“STS4AH” group integrates capabilities and experiences in RDI, technological and training services, having as fundamental pillars the scientific objectives of IRTA and strategic scientific initiatives.
In terms of its technological offering in RDI, the group has extensive experience in supporting companies in the field of improving pig and rabbit genetic lines, developing feed additives, developing new antimicrobial molecules, researching new alternative protein sources for animal feed, implementing and validating animal welfare protocols, installing aquaponic systems and designing integrated multitrophic production systems (IMTA) for fish, to optimize the use of water and resources.
In addition, IRTA provides technical support for the optimization of anaerobic digesters to promote the implementation of circular economy practices, the improvement of sustainability in the company, using the "Life Cycle Analysis" tool, research into soil microbiology and its bioremediation and the implementation of technologies with the aim of reducing GHGs.
