Through emerging technologies, it seeks to respond to societal challenges in areas such as production models, consumption, sustainability and the environment. This group includes the following lines of research: data science, digitization, software engineering, cloud computing & big data, blended networks, smart cities, communications, innovation ecosystems and filocultura.

La Salle URL Smart Society’s technological offer is conditional upon the technologies targeted for study by each particular line of research and their ability to resolve complex problems in companies through their application.
The common denominator of these technologies is the integration of artificial intelligence via machine learning, neural networks, computer vision and/or natural language processing. Data science technologies; cybersecurity; IoT; WoT; cloud and edge computing; big data; quantum computing; digital twin; radio; smart networks; and telecommunications associated with antennas.

La Salle HER boasts three unique spaces:
- IOTICAT, an 1800 m² open innovation laboratory devoted to human-environment interaction with the Internet of Things, the Àgora room, 10 co-creation rooms, prototyping and 3D printing laboratories and a co-working area.
- IASLAB, 2800 m² in size, includes laboratories for digital and immersive technologies applied to art, health and entertainment, with an immersive room, a VFX set and an anechoic chamber.
