Technological capabilities
With 30 years of experience in adenoviral and AAV vectors, we have the ability to generate a wide range of viral vectors, a proven track record in both preclinical and clinical studies, as well as active lines of research and development for optimizing procedures. As a result, our center is one of only 6 gene therapy groups participating in the Network of Excellence in Advanced Therapies (RICORS-TERAV) funded by the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII).
The technological products and services offered by the UPV are:
- Design, production, purification and characterization of viral vectors (adenoviruses and adeno-associated viruses) customized specifically for the requesting researcher
- Distribution of aliquots of vectors with marker genes, for preclinical and proof-of-concept experiments
- Amplification and characterization of previously generated vectors
- Sterility and quality controls
- Advice on biosafety and biodistribution of viral vectors
- Advice on the selection and design of viral vectors
- Independent characterization of viral vectors produced in other laboratories or production units
