What do you need to know?
It is the call for awards of the Institute of Studies of Self-government of the year 2025, to recognize academic works dealing with the territorial organization of power in the category:
- Book published.
- Article published in academic journal.
- Doctoral thesis not published.
Authority responsible
Individuals from any country and nationality who have recently published articles on aspects dealing with territorial politics.
Deadline for applications: from 03/18/2025 to 04/01/2025.
Required Criteria
- We will accept articles written in either English, Catalan or Spanish.
- The works in the category “Book” and “Article” must have been published prior to the publication date of the respective annual call for these awards and the works in the category “Doctoral Thesis” must have been defended, but not published, prior to the same date.
- The works in the category “Book” must have been published during the two years immediately prior to the date of publication of the respective call.
- The works in the category “Article” must have been published during the year immediately prior to the date of publication of the respective call.
- The works in the category “Doctoral Thesis” must have been defended, but not published, during the two years immediately prior to the publication date of the respective call.
There are no fees associated with this procedure.
- When there is more than one author, one of the co-authors will act as the Representative of the group. This representative will submit the application.
- The Representative will be the only valid intermediary during the whole process.
- Each of the other co-authors shall dowload, fill in and sign the document “Statement of co-authorship”. By signing it the other co-authors will acknowledge and accept the application to the award by the Representative.
- Each of the co-authors’ signed documents must be sent to the Representative by the means they consider to be more adequate. The Representative will keep safe these documents and made them available to the IEA in case they are required.

Submitting your online application form
- You can submit your application either using or not an electronic Identity (eID).
- If you do not have a valid eID or do not have any eID at all, you can still submit your online application. However, once submitted, you must be aware that you will then have to download, print and sign the automatic acknowledgement you will receive, and make sure that we receive it no later than 10 working days Section 16.4 Law 39/2015, October 1, on the Common Administrative Process of Public Administration.

The IEA may require additional documentation if deemed necessary. The request will be notified through the Electronic Board of the Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya (tauler.gencat.cat) and must be responded in the ten following days after the request is published.

Within a maximum period of 6 months from the day after the publication date of the corresponding call.
How will I receive the answer?
The public presentation of the resolution of the procedure, duly motivated in accordance with the evaluation criteria contained in bases 9.2, 9.3 and 9.4 will be carried out in the Electronic Board of the Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya, tauler.gencat.cat. This post replaces the individual notification and has the same effects.
The concession resolution will be published in the Official Journal of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Can I file an appeal?- You can file an appeal for repositioning within a maximum period of one month from the day following the date of its publication in the e-Tauler, at the address TAULER.gencat.cat.
- You can file an appeal for contentious-administrative appeal within two months from the day after the date of publication of the Resolution.
