The universities of the university system of Catalonia, research centers, hospital foundations and the three major ICTS infrastructures of the research system of Catalonia (the Alba Synchrotron of the CELLS Consortium, the MareNostrum supercomputer of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center - National Center for Supercomputing and the National Center for Genomic Analysis) can benefit from these grants. All beneficiary entities must have an operational headquarters in Catalonia.
Science and technology parks, technology centers, technology activity support centers and technology dissemination centers are excluded from these bases.

Requirements for candidates
Candidates must meet the following requirements by the application deadline (4 February 2026):
- PhD obtained between 01/01/2018 and 31/12/2023 (extendable to 2016 in justified cases: maternity, illness, disability, etc.). The date of completion of the doctoral degree is considered to be the date of the reading and approval of the thesis.
- At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience outside Spain.
- Mobility rule: must not have resided or worked in Spain for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
- Must not have previously received a Beatriu de Pinós fellowship.
-One position is reserved for candidates with a degree of disability of 33% or more.
Requirements for application supervisors
Application supervisors must meet the following requirement by the application deadline (4 February 2026):
They must have a statutory, employment, or affiliation agreement with the beneficiary entity of the grant. This affiliation must guarantee the supervision of the candidate during the three years of the fellowship.
For the purposes of these regulatory bases, the following do not meet this requirement: staff with part-time dedication, staff on leave of absence, visiting professors, and emeritus professors.
There are no taxes associated with this procedure.
Period of execution and duration
The awarded grants have a duration of three years.
The beneficiary entities of the grants must incorporate the selected candidate and formalize the employment contract within the period between the date of publication of the final award resolution on the electronic notice board of the Administration of the Generalitat of Catalonia (<https://seu.gencat.cat/ca/informacio-publica.html>) and the 01/03/2027 (or 01/05/2027 for candidates in reserve list).
Eligible Expenses
The maximum amount allocated to these grants and the budgetary application to which they must be charged are those determined by the call.
- Amount for hiring (salary + Social Security): 149,396.00 € for each 3-year contract.
- Additional support for activities (12,000 €) such as:
Training and capacity building.
Travel, conferences, short stays.
Publications, intellectual property.
IT equipment (computer/tablet).
- Severance pay upon termination of contract.

Step two
Response from the Administration.
Provisional proposal: The instructing body prepares the proposal for awarding based on the report of the Selection Committee.

Notification: It is published on the Generalitat’s electronic notice board (e-noticeboard), replacing individual notification (Art. 45.1.b of Law 39/2015).
Content: Includes the list of applicants proposed as beneficiaries and the reserve list. If any beneficiary declines, the grant will be awarded to the next person in order of score, provided sufficient funds are available.
Acceptance: Beneficiaries must accept the grant within 2 months from publication. The acceptance document can be obtained from the AGAUR website and submitted via electronic registry (EACAT or AGAUR procedure).
Required documentation:
- ID card/passport/NIE (current and previous if changed).
- Doctoral degree certificate or receipt, and thesis defense date.
- Proof of leave (maternity/paternity), caregiving, serious illness, etc.
- Certificate of postdoctoral stays outside Spain (signed by the host institution).
Tacit withdrawal: If acceptance and documentation are not submitted within the deadline, the grant is considered declined without prior notice.
Final Resolution and Notification: The award resolution must specify the purpose and scope of the grant, the maximum amount of funding, the conditions the beneficiary must meet, the implementation period for the subsidized actions, the source of the funds financing the grant, and the applicable appeal procedure. Furthermore, the resolution must state that its finality implies that the beneficiary entity tacitly declares compliance with its obligations to the Tax Administration, the Social Security Treasury, and the Generalitat of Catalonia, without prejudice to verification by the instructing body.
The granting authority must issue a reasoned resolution for the grant award procedure and notify the interested parties within the timeframe indicated in the call.

Certification of Hiring and Payment
Payments for the different components of the grants are made as follows:

1. First payment:
Covers 50% of the grant for hiring the candidate and 100% of the complementary amount, and is processed once the host entity certifies the incorporation of the contracted researcher, within two months from the day after it becomes effective, by submitting the following documentation:a) Standardized document certifying incorporation and ethical information, duly signed.
b) Copy of the signed contract, indicating gross annual salary, duration and dates of the contract, and the place where the doctor will provide services.
c) If the research project includes any aspect requiring ethical review, a copy of the favorable report issued by the ethics committee linked to the host entity. If this report is not available at the time of incorporation, the candidate must declare that the process has been initiated and provide the expected date of receipt in the standardized document mentioned in point a).2. Second payment:
Covers 30% of the grant for hiring the candidate and is processed when the beneficiary entity submits the scientific-technical progress report to AGAUR.3. Final payment:
Covers the remaining 20% of the grant for hiring the candidate and, if applicable, 100% of the end-of-contract indemnity, and is made once the justification for the awarded grant has been submitted and reviewed, in accordance with these regulatory bases. -

Monitoring the grant
To assess compliance with the objectives stated in the application, the beneficiary entity must submit the following documents during the eighteenth month of the contract subject to the grant:

- The scientific-technical progress report, in accordance with the standardized template.
- The data management plan for the research project.
Once the grant period has ended, AGAUR may request information from beneficiary entities and candidates as a measure to monitor the program’s impact on the candidates’ research careers.

Final justification of the grant
Beneficiary entities must justify the effective implementation of the subsidized activities and provide proof within two months following the end of the grant period, using the standardized templates.

The documentation to be submitted is as follows:
- Scientific-technical report of the executed activity, indicating the activities carried out and the results obtained, signed by the contracted candidate and the principal investigator responsible for coordinating the research activity.
- Certification of the hiring cost of the candidate, detailed monthly for the entire grant period (salary expense and employer’s contribution), signed by the legal representative of the entity.
- Copy of the Social Security Treasury document “Contribution Data Report / Employees” (IDC).
- Classified list of expenses incurred with the complementary grant, signed by the legal representative, including the concept, creditor, invoice number or equivalent supporting document, amount, issue date, and, where applicable, payment date. This list must follow the standardized template. If partial withdrawal occurs before at least eighteen months of the grant have been completed, the maximum justifiable amount of the complementary grant will be reduced by half, as established in the corresponding call.
- Detailed list of other income or grants that have financed the subsidized activity, indicating the amount and source. When expense receipts are partially allocated to other grants, the exact amount or percentage assigned to each must be indicated, along with identification of the granting bodies.
- Responsible declaration by the beneficiary entity including at least the following: — That expense receipts have been allocated to different funding sources without exceeding the unit amount of each receipt. — That the total funding sources do not exceed the cost of the subsidized activity. — That a separate accounting system is in place or that expense receipts have been assigned a common accounting code for transactions related to the subsidized activity.
