The Grants for new business opportunities will enable you to establish new initiatives in your company to conceptualize a business plan or implement activities already established.

Among others, these grants will enable you to define or realize strategic change projects to create products with greater added value, to enter new markets and sectors or to offer different services to your customers.

It is therefore an opportunity to realize that business opportunity identified or defined in your strategic plan and that could become your main line of business in the future. There are two lines for access to Grants for new business opportunities: Strategic change or structural change business projects.

Line 1. Strategic change projects

The Grants for new business opportunities aimed at strategic change are the boost you need to start business projects that could become the focus of your company’s future. A line of grants that consists of producing a business plan based on an opportunity previously defined by the company.

You will receive advise from ACCIÓ-endorsed suppliers in realizing the business activity, the cost of which will be the only expense eligible for the grant. The grant will cover 75% of this expense, up to a maximum of 30,000 euros.

Companies with an operating establishment in Catalonia and with one of the following legal statuses can benefit from this line of grants: limited liability companies, corporations, employee-owned companies or cooperatives.

Line 2. Structural change projects

The Grants for new business opportunities include a line of subsidies aimed at structural change and the implementation of activities defined in the prior business plan.

To apply for them, a business plan must be submitted in which the activity to be implemented and the resources considered necessary to guarantee the feasibility of the new line of business are defined and analyzed.

Initiatives such as the following are considered eligible:

Purchase of machinery and equipment.
External expenses linked exclusively to the new activity.
Specific expenses involving external training of personnel to adapt to the new activity.
Expenses for in-house personnel working exclusively on implementing the new activity.
Expenses for the audit report.
